My First Classroom is in fact, our daughter
Natalie's first experience of a school or playgroup environment.
She has attended for one year starting at the age of 22 months.
My wife (Chinese) and I (Caucasian) were concerned that this
age may have been too young to start this type of activity,
however, we are very pleased that we allowed her to join My
First Classroom.
We felt that the most important part of allowing Natalie
to attend was the trust factor that we had in the relatively
unknown teaching staff at the school. We need not have worried
as My First Classroom teachers and management has cared for
our daughter as though she was their own.
Natalie is a strong-willed girl, however, My First Classroom
has enabled her to interact with other children of similar
age and the teachers have endeavored to mould her to become
part of a team whilst allowing her to retain her individual
characteristics, with a significant amount of success.
The caring nature of the teachers has enabled Natalie to
be very close to those teachers who are with her much of the
day and she loves going to school in the morning and be welcomed
with a hug and a caring person who is not only her teacher
but is her very good friend.
In terms of learning, Natalie is taking in a great deal especially
in being able to speak English and Chinese which she applies
in every day activities at school and at home. In terms of
other skills and knowledge she is still young and this will
take time and patience which the management and teachers have
abundance.
We would like to thank all at My First Classroom for giving
our daughter an excellent start to her independent life and
caring for her so much.
